Celebration Assembly 21.12.18

There was a lot to celebrate in our final school assembly for 2018 after such a busy term!

First up, was the Reading Challenge. A new incentive for this term and which has proved an amazing success. Not only were the classes competing against each other for the most reads but individually as well. The ‘most individual reads’ for each class were rewarded with prizes for their efforts. You can see from their faces how happy they were with this. Well done to all of you!

Then came the announcement of the winners for the classes with some amazing numbers for the amount of reads achieved as a collective. They were as follows for KS1 and KS2:

KS1:                                                   KS2:

Class 5 – 624                        Class 10- 729

Class 4 – 600                        Class 8 – 664

Class 3 – 315                         Class 12 – 621

Class 7 – 587

Class 6 – 519

Class 11 – 381

Class 9 – 368

Well done to all those who contributed to their class totals and lets see who it will be next term!

Next, we announced the weekly and termly totals for the House Points which literally raised the roof… well almost.

Weekly Total:                                        Term Total:

1st: Swithland 212                             1st: Bosworth 2837

2nd: Charnwood 204                       2nd: Swithland

3rd: Bradgate 190                             3rd: Charnwood 2643

4th Bosworth 179                              4th: Bradgate 2520

All the children from Bosworth were treated to a little festive reward at breaktime. Many thanks to Mrs Smith for organising the goodies.

Finally with a tinge of sadness, we bid a fond farewell to Mrs Parr, who after 15 years is moving onto ventures new. It will seem strange without her smiles, wit and hugs for those in need while manning her numerous responsibilities in the Office. A dance off to the dulcet tones of Take That echoing round the hall had all the children and staff involved. If you ask me though, I think she has actually left because she has given up waiting for Gary Barlow to turn up and whisk her off her feet! Good luck Mrs Parr!!
