Considering which school to send your child to is an enormous responsibility and one that is both exciting and challenging. Starting school is a major milestone in any child’s development and making the best choice is vitally important. Mercenfeld is an excellent school with lots to offer.
During our 2015 OFSTED, the school was graded “Good” in all areas. We received particular praise for our broad and exciting curriculum that ensures pupils enjoy coming to school and are enthusiastic learners. We are continually striving to improve the outcomes for our children. Our recent results show that our children are performing significantly above the national average in all areas by the time they leave our school.
Should you decide to send your child to Mercenfeld you can expect us to nurture and encourage them to grow in confidence, develop as independent thinkers and learners and be well prepared for the next stage in their educational journey. OFSTED recognised that we promote confidence in our children through the broad range of extra-curricular opportunities. We have had lots of success in sport and have added many trophies to our cabinet over the past year.
We believe that that in order for children to make the most progress in school, families and the school need to work in partnership. We have regular chances for parents to share learning experiences with the children and we offer information sessions on how we teach key skills. We have an active parents’ forum where ideas for how to improve this relationship further are discussed.
As you make your decision, we urge you to visit our school, spend time with the staff and see at first hand the learning experiences we offer. If you can’t visit, our website is regularly updated and can give you a flavour of what we offer to our children.
I would also urge you to visit OFSTED’s parent view website where you can see what our current parents think of the school. If there is any further information you would like, or if you would like to visit please feel free to contact us.
