As part of our ongoing commitment to e-safety, we recently held our regular talk for parents. We handed out the latest issued of the Digital Parenting magazine but if you haven’t had chance to grab one yet (many thanks to those at the Easter Fete who handed them out to as many people as they could!) there are plenty more copies available in reception or from Mr Beighton.

Welcome to Mercenfeld

Considering which school to send your child to is an enormous responsibility and one that is both exciting and challenging. Starting school is a major milestone in any child’s development and making the best choice is vitally important. The decision can be eased if you have the necessary information to support you.

During our 2012 OfSTED, the school was described as rapidly improving due to the concerted hard work of the Headteacher and staff. Pupils behave well. They say they are happy in school and feel safe. Attendance is high. The school promotes pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development well. This is shown by pupils’ eagerness to learn, good behaviour and respectful attitudes towards each other and adults. We are continually striving to improve the outcomes for our children. Our recent results show that our children are performing significantly above the national average in all areas.

Should you decide to send your child to Mercenfeld you can expect us to nurture and encourage them to grow in confidence, develop as independent thinkers and learners and be well prepared for the next stage in their educational journey. They will be given high quality teaching and a stimulating curriculum in a safe and motivational environment.

We believe that that in order for children to make the most progress in school, families and the school need to work in partnership. We have regular chances for parents to share learning experiences with the children and we offer information sessions on how we teach key skills. We have an active parents’ forum where ideas for how to improve this relationship further are discussed.

As you make your decision, we urge you to visit our school, spend time with the staff and see at first hand the learning experiences we offer. If you can’t visit, our website is regularly updated and can give you a flavour of what we offer to our children.

If there is any further information you would like, or if you would like to visit please feel free to contact us.

Kindest Regards
Andy Kitchen
Headteacher
